Welcome back to our site!
With the beginning of the school year, we are looking forward to kick-starting the 2015-2016 Robotics season! We already have a couple events confirmed so free up your schedule. Here are the upcoming events in the fall, according to our Lead Mentor, Paul Sullivan:
-
September 3rd – 4pm to 6pm – Robot Room (Lugoff-Elgin High School Annex building, behind the Middle School) – Open House/Team get together. Stop by during this time to see people from last year and let us know you are planning to be on the team. BRING A FRIEND or at least someone you think might want to join the team.
-
September 8th – 6pm to 6:30pm – Robot Room – Team meeting with students and parents/guardians. This short meeting will be used to give information to students and parents concerning our plans for this year. We will keep this meeting as brief as possible. Students and at least one parent/guardian need to attend.
-
September 12th – noon – FIRST Tech Challenge kickoff. Go to the FTC website to watch the kickoff information and learn about this year’s game. We are NOT currently planning to meet as a team to watch the kickoff.
-
October 10th – THOR FIRST Robotics Competition in Reidsville NC. We will travel to North Carolina on Friday, October 9, after school and return to South Carolina after the competition on the 10th. Our team has been in the winning alliance for the last 2 years–the pressure is ON! Check out all of the competitions we have won in our Awards page!
-
October 24th – SCRIW FIRST Robotics Competition at Dreher High School in Columbia SC. We will travel to/from the event that day.
All these events are already in our team calendar. If you’d like to add this calendar to your google account, let me know! That way, you won’t miss any important events.
I can’t wait to see each one of you and how many new members we will have this year. What are you looking forward to in this new robotic team season? Let us know in the comments.
